Wayne Francis Davis was the 2nd child of 4: born to Haskill and Ellen Davis, on February 6th, 1934, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
At the age of 2, Wayne and his family drove and moved to Lindsay California; where as children, they worked alongside their parents picking cotton and doing whatever work necessary to help make ends meet.
Wayne was known by all for his sense of humor and his physical strength. His Nickname; which followed him throughout his life, by his closest friends was "Atlas".
Once Wayne completed High School, he enlisted into the Air Force at the age of 17. He was stationed in Guam during his years of service and worked as a Jet Engine Mechanic. Wayne was very mechanically inclined and could fix and build anything he set his mind to.
Once Wayne returned home, he completed some College and began working. Wayne worked several jobs, which included his main career of working with Cemex Rock Quarry in Lemon Cove.
Wayne met Charlotte Fitzgerald Sone in 1960 and they married in 1961. They went on to have 2 children: Michael James and Michelle Janiece. This marriage unfortunately did not last. Wayne later married LaQuita Emberson in January of 1971. They enjoyed 38 years of marriage, being active in their CB Club, traveling in their RV and visiting with family and friends.
Wayne fought a long hard battle with his illness for 15+ years and in the early morning hours of February 24th, 2023, "Atlas Shrugged" and took his last breath with his daughter and 1 on his wonderful Caregivers; Mayra Medrano, at his bedside.
Wayne will be missed deeply, but we are glad his journey here on Earth is complete.
Dad, you deserve to "Rest in Peace."
