Verna Jean Best Verna Jean Best passed away September 30, 2023. Going by her middle name, Jean was 89 years old.

Jean was born in Neosho, Missouri, but moved to California as a pre-teen, she attended Porterville High School, married and moved away only to return years later in 1992. Jean spent her remaining 31 years in Porterville. Jean is now re-united with her beloved husband Bob and so many loved ones in heaven. Jean was a member and treasurer at First Southern Baptist Church.

Jean is survived by her sons, Dwayne (wife, Brenda)and Dale Best; 5 grandchildren, Aaron Best (wife, Kelly), Brandon Best, Marcie Penny (husband, Greg), Michael Best, and Andrew Best; 3 great grandchildren, Jillian Best, Jack Best, and Ashley Best; 1 brother, William Harness (wife, Betty); and numerous nieces and nephews. We love you Mom!

A Visitation will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, California on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Service will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, California on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, California on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
