Renee Juliet Curtis

Renee Juliet Curtis, aged 81 and resident of Prescott Valley, Arizona passed away July 21, 2021 surrounded by her daughters. Renee was born in Tucson, Arizona March 17, 1940 to Henri and Ruth Tschachtli. She grew up in Southern California and graduated from St. Mary’s School in Fullerton.
Renee met Morris L. Curtis in 1960 and they were married on July 15, 1961 in Fullerton, CA. The Curtis family moved to Porterville in 1976 and they lived in Porterville for the next 33 years. Renee was a resource aid at Westfield Elementary for many years.
Renee was an avid reader and loved going to the library. She also loved playing Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. She was particularly interested in history of all kinds and enjoyed watching history documentaries. Renee had a strong interest in Egyptology and attended several museum events related to Egypt.
Renee enjoyed riding horses and even rode one to visit Morris when they were dating. She also enjoyed owning dogs and had several Dobermans.
Renee was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Morris L. Curtis in 2009 and her daughter, Beth Marie in 1962.
Surviving family includes her four daughters: Jennifer Curtis of Bennett, Colorado, Elaine Curtis of Prescott, Arizona, Andrea Islam of Anaheim, California, and Rosann Gilman (and husband Tim) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Nikki Islam.
Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery (located at 1013 E. Olive Ave., Porterville, CA 93257) on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 9:00 AM.
