Rebecca Filipa Salcido

Rebecca Felipa Salcido, a resident of Porterville, passed away on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021. She was born on August 20th, 1948 and was the second daughter, to Librado Mena Salcido (father) and Nieves Velasquez (mother). Rebecca was 73.
Little did the world know that in a small pocket of California, would come a person that helped everyone in her presence. Though she made mistakes, like every person, we will remember her with love, like many of those she had helped in their time of despair. She shared her love, humor and strength, with anyone who needed it, all while raising for boys alone. Even in tough times and through her greatest illness, she had a contagious smile that gave everyone around the hope that their own lives could be better. She was a single flame of kindness in a world of darkness, now we all will carry that flame for her, so that it never goes out.
She is survived by her four sons, Jesse Salcido (49), Dino Salcido (48), Joe Salcido (46), and Angel Salcido (45). A Celebration of life will be held at a later date at her son Dino Salcido’s residence.
