It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Rodriguez Duron announces his passing on April 15, 2023 at the age of 77, surrounded by his loved ones.
Paul was born on October 2, 1945 in Henderson, Texas, fourth born of the late Marcos and Constancia Duron. He would travel with his parents and siblings to find work during the harvest season, working in farm labor throughout the states of Texas, Michigan and California. They moved to San Jose, then moved to the Woodville Labor Camp and eventually ended up in Poplar, California. Paul attended many different schools because of their travels but Rockford elementary is where he stayed until moving on to Porterville High school where he completed his freshman year and then left school to work with his father and help provide for their family.
Paul met the love of his life, Frances Ortiz, in 1963 and they were married September 29, 1964. Soon after, Paul and Frances started a family, their son Paul Duron Jr was first born and then their daughter Evelia Ruiz.
Paul Sr. continued with farm labor work, harvesting different types of fruit and becoming a foreman of the harvesting crews. In 1976 he left the agriculture field and went into the automotive industry beginning at Auto Dealerships of Dilday-Mock Chrysler and then to Merle Stone Chevrolet where he retired from. Paul was very passionate about church and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife Francis on August 20, 2020, anyone who knew Paul knew his heart broke that day. He was also preceded in death by his father, Marcos Duron; Mother, Constancia Duron; brothers, Oscar, Robert and Roy; and sister Mary.
Paul is survived and will be loved and missed by his precious children, son, Paul Duron Jr(Anette) and daughter Evelia Ruiz(Art) all of Porterville, California. He is also survived and will be forever missed by his siblings, Aurora Sauceda of Fennville, Michigan, Art Duron of Porterville California, Delia Cavazos of Tulare, California and Juanita Talamantez of Idaho; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Myers Reception Hall in Porterville, California on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A prayer service will be held at Myers Reception Hall in Porterville, California on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Myers Reception Hall in Porterville, California on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Woodville, California.
