Our loving Micaela Alvarado Giron, known to her loved ones as Pilar, took her last breath on April 3, 2023 at 67 years old. She was born to parents Armando Mendez Alvarado and Manuela Ramos in El Vergel, El Oro, Durango Mexico. As the eldest of 14 children, Pilar cared for and taught each of her siblings: Aurelio, Rosa, Lorenzo, Armando Jr, Angel, Ernesto, Javier, Anna, Emma, Gerardo, Patrocinia, Edith and Jesus. You could find her singing along to her favorite songs, showing a true passion for music which is something that she has passed on to her six children: Anabel 'Anita', Nancy, Abel, Bernie, Irma and Benjamin 'Tito'.
Micaela married Salvador Giron in June of 1998. They married in Las Vegas, Nevada, a place our beloved Micaela loved to visit. The casino was a place that took her worries away and brought her joy. She spent her hard earned money traveling, and found much luck on the slots. She worked hard and spent countless hours during her career at Growers Citrus often sacrificing birthdays, special events, vacations and holidays with loved ones. Anyone who knew Micaela knows that she was a hard-working woman who always gave her 100%. Through work she developed many friendships, some which have lasted more than 30 years.
Micaela was determined to create a better life for her children. In 1979, she sacrificed her life to come to the United States, pregnant and with three children. She became a United States citizen in February of 2000.
Forever in our hearts, Pilar will be missed and remembered as a mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt and Nana. She has taught so many, and will continue to teach those who knew her with the love she has instilled in each one of our hearts. Her legacy will live on through her six children, 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Tus palabras que siempre vamos a recordar "Dios te Bendiga, Los Amo".
