Mercedes Faggart passed away on May 6th, 2021. Mercedes was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on March 10, 1956, she was 65.
She and her family moved to Porterville, California when she was a young girl. Mercedes attended St. Anne’s Catholic School, Roche, and West Putnam grammar schools. She graduated from Porterville High School in 1974. Shortly after graduation she married Mike Cypret. She went on to earn a Certificate of Qualification in Clerical work from Porterville Adult School. Mercedes later attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and earned a certificate of training for Chiropractic Assistant in 1982. Mercedes worked as an office manager in the chiropractic field for over 15 years. In 1992 she married Ted Faggart.
Mercedes left behind one daughter, Jennifer Cypert-Alvarez; and five grandchildren, Santana, Serena, Saldona, Serafina, and Manataro Alvarez. She is also survived by her two sisters, Esperanza Sukkar and Susan Dominguez; and brother, Julio Dominguez.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Christino and Aurora Uribe Arellano; and brother, Joseph Aguirre.
Mercedes enjoyed traveling, bowling, skiing, and tennis. She was a great cook. She loved animals and was very fond of dogs, especially her toy dachshunds, which she bred and raised. Mercedes was a kind and spirited person, and a good friend.
