Mary Jean Phillips was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on March 7, 1934 to Floyd and Lula Mae Wells.
She grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Checotah High School. She often shared stories about her family and how she and her friends would spend a lot of time at the roller skating ring.
Mary Jean met the love of her life and married Frank Phillips on October 31, 1953. They had 4 children: Kim, Gale, Frankie, and Jan. In 1960, Frank and Mary Jean moved their family to Strathmore, CA. Mary Jean was employed by Montgomery Wards for 31 years and retired in 1996. She enjoyed working there very much.
Mary Jean loved her family and took care of them very well. She made their clothes, cooked homemade meals from scratch, raised animals, grew vegetables, and traveled with her family every chance she would get. Family was everything to her. She showed her love through the time she devoted to her family and friends, always looking for a way to put a smile on your face. Mary Jean was good to everyone she met. We will never forget you or the love you poured out upon us all of our lives.
Mary Jean is survived by her 3 daughters, Gale and husband Andy, Kimilee, and Janet; 3 grandsons, Shane and wife Michele, Adam, and Travis; 2 granddaughters, Amanda and Lauren; and 1 great granddaughter, Chanel. She is preceded in death by her son, Frankie; her sister Patty; and her beloved husband, Frank.
