Marilyn L. "Chick" Cerniga transcended across the pond to another blissful site during her sleep on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Our marriage of 65 years was a happy and eventful period. Her many talents included painting, sewing, sculpting of statues, ceramics, and she was an excellent equestrian. She rode her Arabian horses in the Rose Parade for 23 years, prior to her Arabian group being canceled because of the twin towers crashes, now known, as the 911 issue.
Her multiple talents were honored by the Porterville Historical Museum with a months long display of her talents just this fall. She exhibited her horses at many events, and won multiple championships, including the San Francisco "Cow Palace" and the Arabian National Finals Horse Show in Albuquerque, NM. She also showed her mule at Bishop Mule Days.
We will all miss her. See her soon. Arrangements are being handled by Myers Funeral Service and Crematory, 248 North E Street, Porterville, California 93257. Online condolences may be made to the family at
