Judy Claudette Ramirez passed away on June 8th, 2022 at home surrounded by close family, she was 81 years old.
Judy was one of five born to Claude Lee and Vada Miller in Waldron, Arkansas on June 28th, 1940. After moving from Texas with her family to Porterville, CA in 1950, Judy attended Porterville High School, where she met her high school sweetheart Alfonso Ramirez. The two were married in Seattle, Washington in 1960 and celebrated just shy of 62 years together.
Judy also attended Long Beach State College and after graduating became a Psych Tech at Porterville Developmental Center, her granddaughter would later follow in her footsteps. In addition to having a full career, Judy welcomed two sons, and was an active member of St. Anne’s Parish and the Catholic Daughters. She also volunteered at St. Anne’s Food Pantry and loved using her creativity to make anything from a prom dress to a quilt. Judy was incredibly smart, sarcastically funny, and loved to travel with her husband and family.
Judy is survived by her two sons, Robert and Donald Ramirez; her grandchildren, Ashly, Steven, Brian, Carissa and Sierra; her two great grandchildren, Colton and Rylee; as well as her sisters, Raynelle Silva and Donna Underwood. (Siblings, Sandra Avery and Michael Miller have passed).
A Memorial Service will be held on the 15th of September, 2022 for both Alfonso and Judy Ramirez at 3:00 PM at Myers Chapel, Porterville, with a reception to follow at Ashly Ramirez-Qualseth’s home. Interment to be private.
