Helen Margaret Crowe, age 83, of Porterville, California, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025.

She was born on November 5, 1941 in Porterville, California to Ivan and Maudine Phipps.

Surviving are her three children; Mark Anderson of Christoval, TX; Melissa Anderson of Porterville; and Melinda Basaldua of Porterville. She also leaves brother David Phipps, and special granddaughter and caregiver Melissa Basaldua. Her extended family also includes step-sons Joseph Kelley of Branson, MO; Stephen Kelley of Palmer, AK; and David Crowe, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; and step-daughter Ruthe Kelley of Clovis, CA. She also leaves behind many special grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are husbands Gary Anderson (Deputy Sheriff/ Naval Investigator); Harry Kelley (Porterville Recorder Publisher); and David Crowe, Sr.(PDC). Also precedent in death were step-daughters Becky Stockwell; Vicky Kusnierek; Anya Cline; siblings Richard Phipps and Janice Smothermon; and great grandson Hudson Moon.

Helen grew up in Porterville and graduated from Porterville High in 1959. She worked at the Porterville Developmental Center for 25 years. She also served multiple terms as president of the Porterville Junior Women's Club.

Affectionally nicknamed Nana, Helen was a caring and generous person who loved children and antiques. She was a masterful interior decorator, accenting her home with treasured antique finds.

Helen's favorite memories were owning a Chevy Camaro every few years; great times with pals Betty Harding and Karen Skiles; lending someone a twenty; and spending time with all the children that crossed her path.

A private ceremony honoring Helen's life will be held at a future date.
