DUE TO COVID-19, SERVICES ARE CURRENTLY POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Edwyn (Ted) Allen Faggart passed away peacefully in his home on February 28, 2020, at the age of 78.
Ted was born on June 14, 1941 in Terra Bella, CA and was an only child. His family soon moved to Porterville and his father, Ernest (Bud) Faggart, established Faggart Buick/GMC car dealership in 1957. Ted grew up and attended school in Porterville, CA and graduated from Porterville High School. He then went to San Jose State to earn a BS in Business Administration.
Ted married Crystal Bernard and returned to Porterville to work as sales manager at Faggart Buick and GMC. Ted and Crystal had three children: Jeffery Faggart, Jarrett Faggart, Catherine Faggart Albertson. After his father’s death in 1998, he took over as owner operator of Faggart Buick/GMC and then married Mercedes Faggart. Ted later married Barbara Calkins Faggart. He continued to own and operate Faggart Buick and GMC and later renamed the dealership to Faggart Auto Center. Ted was owner/operator until the time of his death.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents Ernest M. Faggart and Mary M. Crow Faggart. He is survived by his children, Jeffery Faggart, Jarrett Faggart and Catherine Faggart Albertson (husband, Kent Albertson); grandchildren, Clay and wife Chelsey Albertson, Michael Albertson, Kyle Faggart, and Jarrett Randell Faggart. his wife, Barbara Calkins Faggart; Barbara’s children: Lance Norman, Sabrina Martinez, Angela Brooke, Melinda Fierro and numerous grandchildren.
Ted was recognized for his many world records as a National Drag Boat racer. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest M. Faggart and Mary M. Crow Faggart. Ted was a loving husband and father as well as a caring and helpful friend. He was a problem solver and the first person to offer help to a friend in need. Ted was a Christian and continued to strive to grow in his faith and relationships with family and friends. He loved God, his family, animals, and fast cars and boats. He will be remembered with love and greatly missed by all who knew him.
