Doris Jane Spring

September 8, 1925 — April 8, 2024

Doris Spring passed away at home, surrounded by family, on April 8th, 2024 at the age of 98.

A native of Illinois, Doris made her way to Hollywood with her older brother in 1943. She worked swing shift in a defense plant and volunteered at The Hollywood Canteen during World War 2. Later she became the receptionist for Samuel Goldwyn Movie Studios where she met many movie stars of the day and her future husband, Jerry Spring. They were married in 1949 and had 2 children while living in Santa Ana. In 1966, they moved to Strathmore where they became Citrus Growers, which Doris remained until her Death. They welcomed a 3rd child while in Strathmore.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Roy and Laura Cratty; brother, Robert Gary ; and husband of 53 years, Jerry.

She is survived by her Son, Brad Spring (Cathy) of Porterville; daughters, Randy Morgan (Jon) of Livermore and Stacy Spring of Strathmore; 3 Grandchildren, Sarah Barnhill (Tim) of Milano, TX, Rachel Spring of Porterville and Travis Morgan (Liz) of Porterville. An avid animal lover, she is also survived by her beloved dogs Ziggy and Ryleigh and 8 cats.
