Delmer W. Smith

Delmer Smith was born in Eufaula, Oklahoma on March 13, 1948 to Solomon and Dean Smith. He was in the Army Infantry, 101st Airborne from 1968-1970, and served in Vietnam. Delmer passed away on Tuesday, November 02, 2021. He was 73.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Smith; his son, Brian Smith and wife Lisa Smith; five grandchildren, Brianna, Brittany, Bridget Smith, Zachary and Zoie Wagster; sisters, Carol Stevens of Porterville, CA, Kathy Damron and husband Charles Damron of McCloud, Ok.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, April Wagster; brother, Stan Smith; and Sister, Charlotte Smothers.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and they were enjoying retirement together. Delmer loved to go fishing with his son, and watching football. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He always made sure they had everything they needed. He rode his bike every morning, looking for treasures. The kid in him still loved Scooby Doo.
A Graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM. The graveside service will be followed by a Celebration of life at New Life Center, 2012 W. Morton Ave., Porterville, California.
