On Sunday April 10th 2022, Baudelio (Chapo) Rodriguez Luna age 86, left this world to be with our Lord and with the countless loved ones who went before him. Mr. Luna took his last breath, in his home of 50 years, surrounded by his children and by many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with his wife of 70 years holding his hand and singing to him.
Mr. Luna was born in Sabinal, Texas to Baudelio and Paula Luna. In 1958 Mr. Luna, his wife and 3 children traveled to Tulare County from Texas for a 3 month visit. In addition to their 7 children Mr. and Mrs. Luna also raised their oldest grandson Manuel. Following the death of their son Jesse they continued on to raise grandchildren Desiree, Jesse Jr. and Veronica. Eventually granddaughter Destiny also came to live in the home.
Mr. Luna worked for Roberts Farms and when the lands were sold he continued to work for the new owners until his retirement at the age of 63. Following retirement Mr. Lunas favorite past times included reading the daily newspaper, reading and watching westerns, playing games on his tablet and caring for his African Grey (Perico) . He indulged his wife with trips to the local casino. His favorite trips were to the family resort in the Palm Springs area. He enjoyed visits from his loud and crazy family. Mr. Luna especially enjoyed spending time with the newest babies in the family. His eyes would light up at the sight of great- granddaughter Emelina and he was just getting to know his youngest great- grandson Lorenzo.
