Antonio Lopez, Jr.

Antonio “Tony” Lopez Jr., a resident of Porterville, California entered eternal heaven on August 19, 2022 at the age of 87. He was born to Antonio Lopez Sr. and Margarita Alba Lopez on June 15, 1935.
Tony attended Woodville Elementary; there he met his future wife Therma J. Stricker. Tony proudly joined the US Army, where he became a paratrooper in the 82nd All American Airborne Division. Tony worked as a farm laborer, at Tulare County Lemon packing house, and as a truck driver at Porterville Developmental Center, until retirement.
He was an active member of Landmark Christian Center where he was an usher for many years. Serving the Lord and others brought him great joy. Tony’s greatest blessings were his children and grandchildren.
Tony was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Victoria Lopez; and son, Mark Anthony Lopez. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Therma Lopez; daughters, Tahni Lopez, Deborah “Debbie” Lopez, and Lisa Hunsaker; Son Stephen “Pepe” Lopez. He was also blessed with 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Landmark Christian Center in Porterville, California on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Woodville Cemetery.
