Anita Louise Corbit

Anita Louise Corbit was called home to heaven on Friday April 11, 2025 in her hometown of Porterville, CA, at the age of 76.

She attended Sierra Vista junior Academy in Exeter, CA where she graduated as a senior. Anita lived her life in Porterville, CA where she married her husband of 54 years, Richard Corbit. Anita worked many years babysitting many children and worked 20 plus years for student nutrition services for P.,U.S.D. Anita was a very talented baker, crafter and most diffidently the biggest animal rescuer/advocate in Porterville.

Anita is survived by her husband, Richard Corbit of Porterville, CA; sister, Shirley Ragsdale of Napa, CA; brother, Earl "Bobby" Sufficool, Jr. of Michigan; children, Shannon Corbit, Ryan Corbit, Matthew Corbit; grandchildren, Tyler Corbit, Amanda Corbit, Christopher Corbit, Jeremy Bailey; great grandchildren, Presley Guyer, Braxton Guyer, Maverick Guyer, Deylilla Rosales, Dalilah Bailey, Aries Corbit, and Axel Corbit. She truly adored her children and was an incredible mother, she helped raise a lot of children and her grandchildren, and to many she was known as "Mama Corbit" or "Grandma Nita".

She is proceeded in death in heaven by her son, Shane Corbit; parents, Earl Sufficool and Helen Shoemaker-Sufficool,; and brother, Dennis Telfer.

Anita had a wonderful life with her husband Richard and their family, raising children and saving animals were the joys of her life. A hole will forever be in our hearts with her passing, as she was the rock that held our family together. We take peace in knowing she is now pain free and happy in the arms of her loved ones in heaven.

A Service will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, CA on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment to be private. Flowers can be sent to Myers Chapel in Porterville, CA.
